Importing files

Drag, drop, or watch a folder. The classification pipeline explained.

Three ways to bring files in: drag and drop, drop into the Inbox folder directly, or watch a synced folder. The classification pipeline is the same for all three.

The pipeline

  1. File arrives. Marje detects the MIME type.
  2. Text-extractable docs (DOCX, PDF, PPTX, XLSX, TXT) get a markdown companion. Original preserved as an asset.
  3. Binary files (images, video, design files) get a metadata sidecar. OCR runs if applicable.
  4. Raw text and markdown route directly into the brain.
  5. Folder rules apply — confidence scored, route picked.
  6. High confidence routes automatically. Low confidence lands in /Inbox/ for triage.
